The year is 2021 and Pizza Recycles has entered the canal safety challenge which is a science fair of sorts.
3 FINALISTS are chosen.
There are 9 contestants this year.
7 of the solutions involve support equipment in the canal water itself.
Pozzi Recycle's solution involves a fleet of autonomous self charging emergency response drones that release a life saving flotation device in times of emergency while also contacting local emergency responders near instantaneously. These drones are equipped with cameras to record footage of the surveying.
The company will also donate 16,000 miles of repurposed plastic fencing to deter future accidents along the canals.
Utilizing robotics to improve public safety should be a nationwide mandate.

ACCORDING TO COPILOT:
The winner of the NASA Canal Safety Challenge was Isotrope, LLC for their innovative solution called the Rescue Deck™. This device is a partially submerged grate that allows victims to walk, crawl, or be rescued from the current, functioning like a virtual beach. This design aims to provide a safe refuge for individuals caught in canals, significantly improving rescue efforts and public safety.
As of now, the Rescue Deck™ by Isotrope, LLC has not yet been widely implemented. The device won the NASA Canal Safety Challenge, and the next steps typically involve further testing, refinement, and collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure it meets all safety and operational standards.
Implementing such innovative solutions often requires partnerships with local governments and agencies responsible for canal safety. This process can take some time as it involves regulatory approvals, pilot programs, and potentially scaling up production.
